Full Time (36 hours/week)Behavioral Health is proud to offer services to patients 55 years +Services include senior, inpatient behavioral health, senior intensive outpatient program, medical detox, and outpatient psychiatryThe behavioral health unit consists of 17 bed and is not an on-call unit.Less than one (1) year of experience is preferred for this positionIf you have more than one (1) year of RN experience, please search for positions titled Experienced RN to start the application process.The OU Health Nurse Residency Program provides the graduate nurse with resources and rich experiences that will serve as a strong foundation for a successful nursing careerOU Health nurse residents receive guidance and support from a primary preceptor and clinical education specialist to successfully bridge the transition from student to professional practiceThe program features ongoing structured learning opportunities for residents, a strong social support network, mentoring and preparation to obtain national certification in their chosen specialty areaCandidates must have a current RN license or compact RN license to practice in Oklahoma prior to beginning the program and have less than one year of RN clinical experience to be eligible to enroll in our Nurse Residency Program.General Description:

Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the positionInability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the positionAssumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients.Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; notes all changes in physician order on assigned patientsAssists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatmentObtains and monitors physiological data of patients, observes the physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessaryAdministers medication as prescribedInitiates, regulates and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.Delivers patient care competentlyInteracts with family and patient in sharing care plan while in the hospital and at time of discharge.Informs patient and family of hospital proceduresMakes referral regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnelDelegates tasks to support staffGeneral

Qualifications:
Education:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing requiredBachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Board Approved Program preferred.
Experience:
N/ALicense(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required:
Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hireNon-Violent Crisis Intervention certification within 3 months of hire.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
