42 an hour 9 days ago 9 days ago 9 days ago Home Health Billing reports directly to the Assistant Administrator and is responsible for all Home Health billing and financial services and processes.
Home Health Billing Job Duties:
1.
Develops and maintains systems and procedures for financial and billing operations:
Ensures compliance with Home Health policies and procedures, especially office and billing procedures and all applicable state and federal regulations governing Home Health operations.
Assists with accurate and timely data entry of patient information, including demographic data and insurance data.
Verifies private insurance coverage, benefit information, co-pays, deductibles and payment rates.
Obtains pre authorization approval when indicated and maintains authorizations throughout Home Health service episode.
Works with DON/Administrator as needed to obtain authorizations.
Verifies Medicare and Medicaid eligibility prior to admissions and monthly as needed.
Maintains accurate records of patient charges, billing, accounts receivables/payables, supplies charged/purchased, and other accounts as indicated in an organized filing system.
Assists with tracking system for ensuring critical activities are completed within Agency or regulatory specified limits, such as admission documentation/certification, 485's, physician orders, recertifications, Face to Face encounter documentation, discharges, etc.
Monitors collections and claim payment issues to ensure corrections are implemented and claims are paid with in required time periods.
Works closely with third party benefit plans, billing agencies and other agency partners to ensure proper claims and reimbursement for agency services.
Close Month end for Home Health 2.
Ensures accurate and timely billing of accounts.
Maintains billing chart notes and records on all billed accounts, with anecdotal notes regarding any discrepancies, unpaid claims.

Assists with training of new personnel Provides initial and ongoing training and cross training of personnel to cover critical operational needs.
Ensures Answering Service has current staff numbers and call schedules.
4.
Works closely with Assistant Administrator, Administrator and management personnel to maintain efficiency of billing operations.
5.
Compiles, prepares and reviews daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly financial and operations reports for accuracy and notifies Home Health Director/Administrator of discrepancies.
Reports may include:
Billing/AR reports, Collections reports Referrals, Admissions, Recertifications, Discharges statistics Quarterly Credit Balance Report Other reports as requested 6.
Assists with Cost Report data compilation, as requested.

Recommends and implements billing related policies and procedures.
8.
Manages Billing Operations in an accurate and timely manner.
9.
Ensures reconciliation and proper coding for all Accounts Payables and submits documentation to Accounts Payable Department in a timely manner.
10.
May assist with office and staff functions, such as preparing for Staff Meetings, Case Conferences, training sessions or other meetings.
Assists with daily operations needs when others are absent, such as answering phones, copying, printing, filing, handling inquiries, etc Home Health Biller
Qualifications:
1.
High School graduate required.
Prefer graduate of Medical Office Assistant/Manager program and/or possess an Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree in Business Administration/Health Care Administration.
2.
Previous experience in a health care office setting, especially experience in Home Health care billing procedures.
(3-5 years recent experience preferred).
Should be familiar with medical terminology, ICD-10 coding, other medical coding, UB-92's, 485/486/487's and use of software programs such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word and/or Excel.

Type 55 word per minute and ten-key 4.
Demonstrated knowledge of appropriate skills for communicating with all ages, especially the geriatric population.
5.
Valid Oklahoma driver's license 6.
Reliable transportation and agency-required liability insurance 7.
Clearance from OSBI check 8.
Communicates orally and in writing in an effective and professional manner.
